Dentists Visit Lakelands

Prettygate Dental Practice recently visited the Year 4 cohort to deliver an engaging and educational session about oral health. The children learned the importance of looking after their teeth through daily brushing, healthy eating, and regular dental check-ups. The team explained the different types of teeth—incisors, canines, premolars, and molars—and described each tooth’s unique function, such as cutting, tearing, and grinding food. Pupils had the opportunity to explore dental models in a hands-on activity, helping them to visually understand tooth structure and placement. The session also included a lively question and answer segment, where children asked thoughtful questions and received expert answers from the dental professionals. This interactive visit not only deepened their understanding of dental care but also encouraged them to take responsibility for their own oral hygiene in a fun and memorable way.
